A pickup truck loaded with 4 tons of lettuce overturned in the Alpu Junction underpass on the Eskişehir-Ankara ring road, and the lettuce in its bed was scattered onto the road. The driver, İsmail Y. (50), who said he maneuvered to avoid hitting a cat that darted onto the road, was pulled out of the vehicle with the help of bystanders and escaped the accident with minor scratches.
In Eskişehir, a pickup truck loaded with 4 tons of lettuce overturned, and the produce in its bed spilled onto the road. The driver, İsmail Y. (50), who was pulled out of the overturned vehicle with the help of bystanders, said he lost control of the steering wheel while maneuvering to avoid hitting a cat.
IT OVERTURNED THE MOMENT IT ENTERED THE UNDERPASS
The accident occurred at the underpass of the Alpu Junction on the Eskişehir-Ankara ring road. İsmail Y., while driving the lettuce-loaded pickup truck with license plate 26 AH 164, lost control of the steering wheel. The swerving vehicle overturned the moment it entered the underpass. The lettuce load in the truck bed also spilled onto the road. İsmail Y., inside the overturned vehicle, was extracted from where he was with the help of bystanders. Upon notification, fire brigade, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Under the supervision of medical personnel, it was determined that İsmail Y. survived the accident with minor scratches.
HE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID HITTING THE CAT
Driver İsmail Y. said at the scene that the accident occurred while he was braking to avoid hitting a cat that jumped onto the road. After the pickup truck was removed from the road, traffic flow was restored, and an investigation into the accident was launched.
