Fatih Kırık, living in Kahramanmaraş, experienced the shock of his life at the hospital he visited due to recent weight loss. During examinations, a giant 20-centimeter tumor was detected in his left kidney, and despite feeling no pain, Kırık was rushed into emergency surgery. The mass, attached to the pancreas and spleen, was successfully removed from his body in a 4-hour operation.

Fatih Kırık, who lives in Kahramanmaraş, applied to the internal medicine outpatient clinic of a private hospital with a complaint of weight loss.

20 CM TUMOR REMOVED FROM HIS KIDNEY

Ultrasound and tomography examinations revealed a large mass in the left kidney. The patient, referred to the urology clinic, was found to have a palpable mass during examination. For further examination, MRI images showed the tumor was approximately 20 cm in size. The patient regained his health after a successful surgery.

“WHAT IS INTERESTING IS THE PATIENT HAD NO PAIN”

Dr. Orhan Sümbül stated that the patient had no complaints except recent weight loss, leading him to apply to internal medicine. He said, "Ultrasound and tomography at the internal medicine clinic detected a large mass in the left kidney, and the patient was referred to us. During the examination, we found a palpable mass. What is interesting here is that the patient had no pain during this process. Only mild weight loss. There was no bleeding, burning, pain, or flank pain when urinating. We performed an MRI, which revealed a giant tumor of about 20 cm. This tumor was attached to the pancreas and spleen above, and extended down to the pelvic region and bladder. With the support of general surgery, we operated on our patient two days ago. The surgery lasted about 4 hours and was very successful. We removed the spleen and the entire mass. Of course, since it occupied a large space, a significant cavity remained in that area. Our patient is currently doing well."

“IT WAS 17 CM INITIALLY, IT INCREASED TO 20 CM WHEN WE WENT INTO SURGERY”

The patient Fatih Kırık stated that he applied to internal medicine due to weight loss, saying, "Nothing came from my weight loss. The mass was detected on ultrasound. Initially, it was 17 cm, but when we went into surgery, it increased to 20 cm. Dr. Orhan successfully removed it, and I regained my health."
