The woman, who had 8 implants inserted, later suffered from infections and various health issues. Stating that her complaints were dismissed as 'psychological,' Çelikdemir could not get a refund. Claiming she spent 36 quarter gold coins, the woman filed a lawsuit against those responsible and is seeking justice.
The life of Gülbeyaz Çelikdemir, a mother of two living in Sivas, turned into a nightmare after an incident she experienced 2 years ago. Çelikdemir, who went to Cumhuriyet University Dental Hospital with a toothache complaint, was directed to a private clinic by a stranger and had 25 teeth extracted there at once.
SHE MET AT THE HOSPITAL, WAS DIRECTED TO THE CLINIC
Çelikdemir met a person named Y.İ., whom she thought was a doctor, at the hospital. This person directed Çelikdemir to a private dental clinic, saying, “Things take long here, we can handle it faster outside.” Later, it turned out that this person was not a doctor but an implant salesman.
25 TEETH WERE EXTRACTED, 8 IMPLANTS WERE PLACED
Çelikdemir, who was taken into treatment at the private clinic owned by A.D., had 25 teeth extracted in a single day. Then, 8 implants were placed in her mouth by a doctor named H.Ö. However, it was learned that only 3 of Çelikdemir's teeth were painful.
HEALTH PROBLEMS PERSISTED
After the implants were placed, Çelikdemir's health problems began. An infection formed in her jaw, her gums receded, and she underwent surgery twice. She suffered from intestinal issues because she could not consume solid food for 2 years. Additionally, it was reported that a mass formed between her esophagus and trachea, and she developed hyperthyroidism.
THEY SAID “THE PROBLEMS ARE PSYCHOLOGICAL”
Çelikdemir stated that when she reported her problems to the clinic, she was told that her issues were psychological. Çelikdemir, who noted that the interventions did not solve the problem, expressed that she requested a refund but did not get any results.
ADDITIONAL FEE WAS REQUESTED TO REMOVE THE IMPLANTS
Çelikdemir stated that when she wanted to have the implants, which she could never use, removed, an additional fee was requested from her. The woman, who said she spent 36 quarter gold coins on the implants, also mentioned that 12,000 TL was demanded for the removal procedure.
TOOK IT TO COURT
After the grievance she experienced, Çelikdemir took the matter to court and filed a complaint against Y.İ., A.D., and H.Ö. at the Ankara 16th Civil Court of Peace. She stated that she continues to live with the implants still in her mouth to prevent the loss of evidence.
“THE REPORT WAS PREPARED WITHOUT A MEDICAL EXAMINATION”
Çelikdemir, who expressed that she also faced difficulties during the judicial process, claimed that the expert report was prepared without examining her. Emphasizing that the biggest piece of evidence is her own health condition, Çelikdemir said she awaits justice to be served.
