A 21-year-old young man in India developed an obsession with his married teacher, and after being rejected, he stalked the woman for a long time. The attacker, who ambushed the teacher at the school entrance and stabbed her multiple times, killing her, was taken into custody, and the horrifying moments were captured on security cameras.
The incident in Faridabad, a city in the Indian state of Haryana, has shaken the country. According to the police investigation, 21-year-old Amit had been interested in Sandhya Sharma, a private school teacher who was married and a mother of two, for a long time. Despite the teacher rejecting him, the suspect did not give up his obsession and followed the woman for about two years.
AMBUSHED AT THE SCHOOL GATE
On the day of the incident, the attacker came to the front of the school and called the teacher to the school gate using her husband's name. After Sharma came out, the suspect attacked her with a knife in his hand, stabbing the teacher multiple times. In the footage captured by the security camera, the attacker is seen delivering successive knife blows.
HAD BOUGHT THE KNIFE IN ADVANCE
The investigation revealed that the attack was not spontaneous and that the suspect had planned the murder months in advance. Police stated that Amit had bought the knife he would use in the attack about two months earlier and had prepared to kill the teacher. Local media reported that the knife bent due to the severity of the attack.
FAMILY BLAMES THE POLICE
The teacher's husband, arguing that necessary precautions were not taken despite previous complaints, said, "If the police had acted in time, she would be alive today." The incident has brought discussions about stalking and violence against women in India back to the forefront.
