A fire that broke out in a scrap vehicle located in the garage of an abandoned building in Nevşehir claimed the life of 14-year-old A.E. The child, whose clothes caught fire during the fire and who suffered burns on 80 percent of his body, was transferred to Kayseri City Hospital after first intervention in Nevşehir. The fire that occurred in Raşitbey Neighborhood of Nevşehir's central district resulted in the death of a child. The incident took place in the garage of an abandoned building located on Eski Hamam Street, opposite Külliye Mosque. A fire broke out in the scrap vehicle in the garage for a reason not yet determined. It was stated that 14-year-old A.E., who was in the garage when the fire started, was dealing with the scrap vehicle. During the fire, which quickly became dangerous, the child's clothes also caught fire. A.E. was seriously injured due to severe burns on their body. After nearby citizens noticed the situation and reported it, police, medical, and fire crews were dispatched to the area. The teams that reached the scene began working both to bring the fire under control and to intervene with the injured child.
80% OF THEIR BODY WAS BURNED
The fire in the garage was extinguished with the intervention of fire crews. Medical teams provided first aid at the scene to A.E., who was seriously injured after being caught in the flames. The child, determined to have burns on 80% of their body, was taken to Nevşehir State Hospital by ambulance. After the initial assessment and interventions at the hospital, it was determined that the injured child needed advanced burn treatment. Thereupon, A.E. was referred to the Burn Unit of Kayseri City Hospital. During the treatment process, in which the child's health condition remained serious, doctors continued their interventions against the life-threatening danger caused by severe burns. However, the expected result could not be obtained from the treatment ongoing at the hospital.
