After the Meteorology's heavy rain warning, an alert was issued across the country. While thunderstorms are expected for 5 days in many provinces including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya and Bursa, the Ministry of Interior issued a "yellow" coded warning for 16 provinces. The Ankara Governorship warned citizens to be careful against floods, hail, lightning and strong winds.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for this week. Heavy thunderstorms are expected across the country for 5 days, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, and Bursa.
HAIL WARNING FROM THE GOVERNORSHIP
The Ankara Governorship also warned citizens to be cautious against adverse conditions such as flash floods, water inundation, lightning, local hail, strong winds during rainfall, and disruptions in transportation.
In a statement from the governorship's social media account, it was said: "According to the latest data from the Analysis and Forecast Center of the General Directorate of Meteorology; since the expected showers and thunderstorms this afternoon are anticipated to be locally strong in the northern and eastern surroundings of Ankara, it is necessary to be careful and take precautions against adverse conditions such as flash floods, water inundation, lightning, local hail, strong winds during rainfall, and disruptions in transportation. This is announced to the public."

In 5 major cities, sunny weather may be seen during the day tomorrow, but heavy rains will be effective in the evening and night hours and on Thursday.
MINISTRY WARNS 16 PROVINCES AND SHARES MAP
The Ministry of Interior issued a "yellow" coded meteorological warning for 16 provinces in the inner parts of the Western and Central Black Sea, northern Central Anatolia, and the Thrace region.
The ministry shared a map of Turkey on its social media account, showing the provinces marked with the "yellow" code, based on the latest information from the General Directorate of Meteorology.
HERE ARE THE 16 WARNED PROVINCES
Accordingly, locally heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected today in the inner parts of the Western and Central Black Sea (Bolu, Karabuk, Kastamonu, Corum, Amasya, Tokat, Sinop, Samsun, and the inner parts of Ordu) and in northern Central Anatolia (northern and eastern Ankara, Cankiri, Kirikkale, Yozgat, and Sivas).
The thunderstorm expected in the Thrace region is predicted to be locally strong in northern Edirne and around Kirklareli.
