In Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district, a person who was seriously injured after an attacker set up an ambush and fired a hail of bullets was taken to the hospital. The masked attacker, wearing a helmet, was caught on security camera as he fled.
SHOT BY A FACECOVERED, HELMETED INDIVIDUAL
The incident occurred around 07:00 in the morning on Çakır Street in Küçükçekmece Fevzi Çakmak Neighborhood. According to allegations, A.A. (45), who was traveling on a motorcycle, was ambushed and attacked by an unidentified, face-covered, helmeted individual who was waiting for him. As the armed attacker fired 5 shots, the unfortunate man was hit in various parts of his body and collapsed to the ground. After the attack, the assailant fled, and upon receiving reports from nearby citizens who heard the man lying in a pool of blood crying for help, numerous ambulances and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The man at the scene was taken to the hospital by ambulance after initial medical intervention. The moments of the attacker's escape were captured on security camera, and efforts to capture the suspect continue.
"HE WAS LOSING CONSCIOUSNESS"
A neighborhood resident who heard the gunshots during the incident said, "My son was about to leave in the morning, and I went back to bed. At that moment, my wife and I heard gunshots. We moved toward the window. The gentleman who was shot was on his motorcycle, lying on its side. At that time, the attacker kept firing. He had set up an ambush somewhere there. As he came like this, firing continuously, he reached this point. The man then collapsed to the ground. We all went outside together, and afterward, we intervened. We heard 5-6 gunshots. Bandaging was done. We went out, applied pressure. My neighbor's wife asked for a cloth, and I gave a towel. Pressure was applied with the towel until the ambulance arrived. He was shot in the right shoulder and also in the back of his legs. He was losing consciousness. His face had turned completely white. My daughter heard him, the police, ambulance, he was shouting help us," she said.
