It has been revealed that Dominique Pelicot, a 71-year-old woman in France, invited foreign men to her home and forced her husband to have sex with them by giving him drugs. 50 individuals and Pelicot, whose identities have been identified, are expected to receive prison sentences of up to 20 years.

A shocking sexual assault scandal has emerged in France. It has been determined that 71-year-old Dominique Pelicot invited dozens of men to his home and drugged his wife, forcing her to be raped. Unaware of what happened to her under heavy doses of medication, the woman said, "My world is shattered. Everything I built for 50 years is falling apart" after the incident was uncovered thanks to the attention of the police.

RECORDINGS RELATED TO THOSE MOMENTS WERE FOUND ON HIS COMPUTER

In the incident revealed by the French Police, Gisele Pelicot, a 72-year-old woman, was raped by dozens of men while under the influence of heavy sleeping pills for years. Pelicot's 71-year-old husband, Dominique Pelicot, invited at least 50 different men to their home between 2011 and 2020, leading to sexual assaults on his unconscious wife. Pelicot, who had more than 3,800 photos and videos related to those moments on his computer, and the other suspects, began their trial on September 2nd. While the trial is expected to continue until December, the individuals accused of rape are expected to receive up to 20 years in prison.

ELDERLY WOMAN GAVE HER FIRST TESTIMONY: MY WORLD IS SHATTERED

Gisele Pelicot, who gave her testimony for the first time at the trial held in Avignon today, said that the police "saved her life" by uncovering the incident. Describing the moments when she first watched the videos in November 2020, Pelicot said, "My world is shattered. Everything I built for 50 years is falling apart."

The courtroom where the trial was held was specially enlarged. The president of the criminal court, consisting of five judges, presented a 31-volume file. Within the scope of this file, 51 out of the 72 individuals identified based on the photos and videos found by the investigators will be tried for four months.

CAUGHT TAKING PHOTOS OF WOMEN

Dominique Pelicot was caught for the first time in 2020 by a security guard secretly taking photos under women's skirts in a supermarket. After the incident, the police examined Pelicot's phone and computer and found the footage belonging to his wife. Gisele Pelicot, who was unaware of the sexual assaults she had suffered due to the effects of the medication, left her husband after being informed by the police. Subsequently, the investigation revealed that Pelicot invited men to their home through a website he used with his wife. According to the news in the French media, Pelicot had certain rules that the individuals who came to the house had to follow, such as not speaking loudly, taking off their clothes in the kitchen, and not using perfume. After approximately 2 years of investigation, the police were able to identify the identities of 50 individuals out of the 72 suspects, whose ages ranged from 22 to 70.
