With the announcement of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) results, in which approximately 2.5 million candidates participated, the champions of the exam became clear. In the marathon where a total of 11 students shared first place, Kabataş Erkek Lisesi (Kabataş Boys' High School) topped the list as the school producing the most first-place winners, with 3 first-place finishers. Kabataş Erkek Lisesi was followed by Kartal Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi (Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip High School), which produced 2 first-place winners.
The Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) announced the eagerly awaited results of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) for approximately 2.5 million candidates. In the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), Field Proficiency Tests (AYT), and Foreign Language Test (YDT) sessions, a total of 11 students achieved first place; Kabataş Erkek Lisesi and Kartal Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi left their mark on the exam with their rankings.

According to ÖSYM data, among the schools of the YKS top scorers, Kabataş Erkek Lisesi (3 first places) and Kartal Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi (2 first places) stood out.

WARNINGS FROM ÖSYM PRESIDENT ERSOY
ÖSYM President Bayram Ali Ersoy, in a written statement, congratulated the top-scoring students, their families, and the entire education community. Reminding that candidates can learn their results via the corporate website ([https://ykssonuc.osym.gov.tr/](https://ykssonuc.osym.gov.tr/)), Ersoy provided the following information about the process: "We have announced the YKS results, which approximately 2.5 million candidates applied for. The 2026-YKS preference procedures will be carried out between July 29 and August 10. I recommend our candidates to carefully review the details in the guide, taking into account their interests and abilities."
FEMALE CANDIDATES' PARTICIPATION RATE SURPASSED MALES
According to statistics shared by ÖSYM, the superiority of female candidates in exam participation rates was notable:
- TYT: Of the 2,425,627 applicants, 2,255,076 took the exam. The participation rate was 94.21% for women and 91.48% for men.
- AYT: Of the 1,627,970 applicants, 1,473,113 took the exam. The participation rate was 92.33% for women and 88.09% for men.
- YDT: Of the 203,640 applicants, 143,270 took the exam. The participation rate was 74.99% for women and 63.81% for men.
In total, with 680 questions posed across 3 sessions, it was reported that in the AYT session, male candidates had higher average net scores in 8 of the 11 subtests, while female candidates were higher in 3. For the candidates who will shape their futures, the marathon will now continue with the preference process.
