After the clarification of retirement pensions, attention has turned to the holiday bonuses. Expectations have increased that the raise in salaries will also be applied to the holiday bonuses. We have compiled the latest figures regarding the holiday bonuses that retirees are eagerly awaiting.

As retirees' expectations regarding the holiday bonuses for the year 2025 increase, the final possibilities are becoming clearer, taking into account past years' increases and the current economic conditions. Following the January inflation exceeding expectations, the need for an increase in retirement bonuses has also risen.

PAST YEAR'S BONUS INCREASES

The holiday bonuses, which started at 1,000 TL in 2018, were raised to 1,100 TL in 2021, 2,000 TL in 2023, and 3,000 TL in 2024 with a 50% increase. This trend of increase has led retirees to enter a similar expectation for a raise in 2025.

HERE ARE THE STRONGEST POSSIBILITIES FOR 2025

If a 15.75% increase is made in holiday bonuses in parallel with salaries, it is expected that the bonuses will rise to 3,472 TL. However, some estimates predict that the bonuses could reach at least 3,500 TL, or even up to 4,500 TL.

THE IMPACT ON THE BUDGET WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 100 BILLION TL

AK Party sources state that no official work has been done regarding the bonus increase so far. There are approximately 16 million 650 thousand retirees in Turkey, and the budgetary cost of the current 3,000 TL bonus is estimated to be between 100 and 110 billion TL. Therefore, it is emphasized that any potential increase should be evaluated considering the budget balances.
