Mükremin Gezgin, who was released at the first hearing of the trial where he was tried under arrest on charges of 'procuring prostitution,' drew attention with his long beard and mustache upon leaving prison. Denying the allegations in his defense in court and arguing that the money deposited into his account was not proceeds from prostitution but 'pocket money,' the influencer was released with a travel ban and a signature requirement.

Social media influencer Mükremin Gezgin, who was arrested and tried on charges of "promoting prostitution" and "inciting public hatred and hostility," was released under judicial supervision at the first hearing of the case. Gezgin, seen with longer beard and mustache upon leaving prison, drew attention with his cheerful demeanor.

"I DID NOT FACILITATE PROSTITUTION"

At the first hearing held at the Istanbul 14th Criminal Court of First Instance, the detained defendant Mükremin Gezgin and his lawyers attended. In his defense, Gezgin firmly denied the charges and described the phone traffic between him and Baki Z., mentioned in the file, as follows: "I coincidentally saw Baki Z. at a fish restaurant. I liked him and we started talking. I am a recognized person on TikTok. My friend 'Masal' (Onur B.) saw the video I took. He called me and said, 'You have a beautiful person with you, set it up for me.' I then messaged Baki, introducing myself as 'Masal' from another number he didn't know. When he realized the situation, the conversation ended. He only sent me 1,500 TL as pocket money once. I definitely did not facilitate prostitution. My posts did not incite the public to hatred and hostility. I run a women's matinee and deal with social media. I am innocent, I request my acquittal."

Released from prison

TRAVEL BAN AND SIGNATURE REQUIREMENT

After the defenses, the court panel announced its interim decision; citing the time Gezgin spent in custody, the completion of statements, and the lack of suspicion of evidence tampering, they decided on his release. Judicial control measures, including a travel ban abroad and a requirement to sign once a week, were imposed on the influencer.

HEARING ADJOURNED TO OCTOBER

The court decided to hear Baki Z., mentioned in the file, as a witness at the next session, adjourning the hearing to October 8. After being released from prison, Gezgin regained his freedom following the completion of procedures.
