The leader of the MHP, Devlet Bahçeli, made a call during his party's group meeting that will go down in political history. Bahçeli called for the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan to come to the Parliament and said, "The terrorist leader should come and declare that terrorism has ended." In subsequent statements, Bahçeli expressed, "We expect face-to-face contact between İmralı and the DEM Group to be made without delay." Following Bahçeli's call, the DEM Party had applied to the Ministry of Justice for a meeting with İmralı. A week has passed since the application made on November 26. Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, in response to a question in the Parliament, stated that the petition regarding the application is being evaluated and that a response will be given within a reasonable time, without providing details. According to a report in Duvar, the process regarding the DEM Party's application is ongoing. While sources indicate that there are no significant obstacles to granting permission for the meeting, it is noted that efforts are being made to clarify the names that will be in the delegation. WHO WILL BE IN THE İMRALI DELEGATION?Sources expressing that progress has been made in determining the delegation stated that DEM Party Istanbul MP and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and former co-chair of the HDP, Van MP Pervin Buldan, who were part of the İmralı Delegation during the 2013-2015 Resolution Process, could be included in the delegation that will go to İmralı in the coming days. Their experiences from the previous process, political backgrounds, and relationships established with the state and bureaucracy were cited as reasons for the preference of these two individuals. Sources highlighted the sensitivity of the relationships to be established with the state and bureaucracy, suggesting that the third person who could be in the delegation might be DEM Party Ağrı MP Sırrı Sakık due to his political experience. PERMISSION WILL BE GRANTED WHEN NAMES ARE CLARIFIEDRegarding Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç's statement that a response will be given to the DEM Party's application within a reasonable time, sources said, "We are not talking about either a hasty or a very long period. Permission will be granted when the names are clarified." They also added that the process is progressing positively. "WHAT MATTERS IS İMRALI'S MESSAGE"DEM Party officials stated that they have not yet received a response from the ministry regarding the İmralı application and reminded that all DEM Party MPs, including the co-chairs, have applied for a meeting with İmralı. They noted that they have no objections to the names to be determined, stating, "If they ask for suggestions from us, we will submit a proposal for a delegation; if they determine the names from within the DEM Party, we will not object to those names. What is important is not who will go to İmralı, but the message that will come from İmralı."
