THEY WERE LOOKING FOR CUSTOMERS TO SELL THE ARTIFACTS
Teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Smuggling and Organized Crime Unit and the Sarayköy District Gendarmerie Command obtained information that a person was looking for customers to sell historical artifacts in his possession.
Identifying the suspect, the gendarmerie followed him and stopped the vehicle he was using.
FOUND IN THE GLASSES CASE
During the search of the vehicle, a crown made of 70 grams of gold leaf, hidden inside a glasses case, along with 2 bronze coins and 1 silver ring, was found. S.Ç. and C.K. in the vehicle were taken into custody.
After their procedures at the gendarmerie, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where S.Ç. was arrested, and C.K. was released.
KINGS USED IT, INVALUABLE
According to officials from the Denizli Museum Directorate, the crown examined is believed to be from the Hellenistic period, between the 3rd and 1st centuries BC, used by kings, and considered priceless.
