A homeowner in Istanbul changed the lock of the house where his tenant lived after not receiving the rent, and allegedly took valuable items from the house. The interesting incident between the tenant and the landlord was brought to court in Istanbul. A man named Nazım S. had been living as a tenant in Tuncay K.'s house in Ataşehir, Istanbul for a long time. When the two could not agree on the rent, the issue was taken to court. THEY WERE SHOCKED BY WHAT THEY HEARDAccording to the allegations, when tenant Nazım S. went to his house on May 21, he wanted to open the door but it didn't work. The man, who rushed to the real estate agent, was shocked by what he heard. He asked real estate agent Murat K. if he knew that the lock had been changed. After learning that the real estate agent had no connection to the incident, Nazım S. managed to enter the house with the help of a locksmith. ALLEGATION THAT "THE LANDLORD TOOK THE ITEMS"According to his claim, 800 euros, 10,000 liras, a replica Rolex watch, his gold, and his phone that he kept in his house were missing. According to a report by Sabah Newspaper, Nazım S. went to the prosecutor's office to file a complaint, claiming that the landlord changed the lock, entered the house, and stole his money, gold, and valuable items. AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATEDIn his petition, the tenant stated that when he went to his house on the day of the incident, his key did not open the door, and he asked the real estate agent about it, then called the landlord Tuncay K. He claimed that Tuncay K. confessed to changing the lock over the phone, stating that the landlord would not give him the key, that notifications and police were constantly coming to the house, that he would pay for his damages, and that he wanted him to leave the house. Stating that he was threatened by the landlord, tenant Nazım S. explained that when he entered the house, he saw that his money and valuable items were not there, and upon his complaint, the prosecutor's office initiated an investigation into the incident.
