According to a report by Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar television, a solidarity rally with Iran was held in the southern suburb of Beirut, Dahiye.
"THE US AND ISRAEL WILL ATTACK US FIRST"
Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem stated in his speech at the rally that unnamed mediators had conveyed to them that "the US and Israel are evaluating the possibility of attacking Hezbollah first, then Iran, or attacking Iran first, then Hezbollah, or both at the same time."
"WE ARE DETERMINED TO DEFEND OURSELVES"
Sheikh Qassem reported that he received direct questions from various parties regarding Hezbollah's stance in the event of a war between the US and Iran, stating, "We are closely related to these possibilities and the likelihood of indiscriminate attacks against us. We are a potential target of an attack and we are determined to defend ourselves." Sheikh Qassem noted that the form of the response would be determined by the course of the war and the emerging balance of interests, stating, "Hezbollah is not neutral on this matter."
"ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON HAMANEY..."
Addressing the threat of assassination against Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei, Sheikh Qassem said, "Any threat directed by US President Donald Trump or anyone else is a threat directed at millions, even tens of millions. This cannot be ignored. We are determined to take all necessary precautions against any assassination attempt on Khamenei."
Sheikh Qassem also added that the awareness of faith, responsibility, and duty compels everyone to "confront this threat." Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghaei announced today that any military attack against his country would be "met with a comprehensive response."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a statement published on the social media account of the US-based X company that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group was deployed to the Middle East "to support regional security and stability."
US media also reported on January 24 that the USS Abraham Lincoln and three accompanying destroyers were moving through the Indian Ocean towards CENTCOM's operational area in the Gulf of Oman. In June 2015, Israel, with US support, initiated a 12-day war against Iran, to which Tehran responded in retaliation, and then the US declared a ceasefire.
