In an incident that took place in the Kağıthane district of Istanbul, a dispute over inheritance between two brothers attending their mother's funeral ended in murder. The event occurred around 4:30 PM at a mosque located in the Nurtepe neighborhood.

According to allegations, Mustafa Mutlu (69) and Mehmet Mutlu (52), who had a long-standing disagreement over inheritance, came together at the mosque for the funeral prayer of their deceased mother, Nuriye Mutlu. A dispute broke out between the brothers after the funeral prayer following the afternoon prayer.

As the argument quickly escalated into a fight, it was learned that Mustafa Mutlu fired at his brother Mehmet Mutlu with a gun he had with him. It was reported that Mehmet Mutlu was shot in the head and abdomen.

DIED IN THE HOSPITAL

Upon notification from bystanders, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Severely injured, Mehmet Mutlu was taken by ambulance to Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital. However, despite all interventions at the hospital, he could not be saved.
