'High bill' murder at entertainment venue captured on camera

In Izmir, municipal worker Şenol Tayran lost his life in a knife fight that broke out due to a dispute over a bill at an entertainment venue. The moment of the incident was captured on security camera, and 5 suspects were arrested.

Footage has emerged of a knife fight that broke out in an entertainment venue in Izmir's Konak district after a dispute over the bill, resulting in the death of municipal worker Şenol Tayran. Five suspects taken into custody after the incident have been arrested.

The incident occurred on June 29 at an entertainment venue in the Basmane neighborhood of the district. According to reports, Şenol Tayran (45), who worked as a laborer for the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Directorate, went to the venue with his friend D.T. and a group accompanying them. In the ensuing hours, a dispute broke out between Tayran and his friends and the venue staff over an objection to the bill presented to the table. The argument quickly escalated into a fight. During the scuffle, Şenol Tayran and D.T. were stabbed and injured. Following a report, police and 112 emergency health teams were dispatched to the address. After initial medical intervention, the injured were taken by ambulance to the Health Sciences University (SBÜ) Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, where Şenol Tayran could not be saved despite all doctors' efforts and died. It was learned that the injured D.T.'s treatment continues.

MOMENT OF MURDER CAPTURED SECOND BY SECOND ON CAMERA

Meanwhile, security camera footage of the murder moment has emerged. The footage shows a person sitting at a table and an individual identified as a venue employee arguing, with other employees joining in as the argument turned into a fight. The moments when Şenol Tayran hits one of the venue employees with a bottle, and then that person stabs Tayran, were captured second by second on camera.

FIVE PEOPLE ARRESTED

Following the incident, as part of an extensive investigation launched by the Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau teams, R.E. (27), R.E. (47), M.K. (50), E.A. (39), and K.Ö. (35), identified as having been involved in the incident, were taken into custody. After completing procedures at the police station, the five suspects were referred to the courthouse and subsequently arrested by the court and sent to prison.
