Cristiano Ronaldo, who is in the final stretch of his football career, has won another award. The Ballon d'Or he won in 2008 as the Portuguese star was voted the best Ballon d'Or season of all time in a fan vote. The Portuguese star became the recipient of the B.O.A.T. award.
In the B.O.A.T. (Ballon d'Or Of All Time) initiative, launched as part of the 70th anniversary of the Ballon d'Or, fans voted to determine the best season of the footballers who have won the Ballon d'Or to date. Only footballers who have won the Ballon d'Or at least twice were included in the voting. Fans were required to pay 1 euro to vote.
THE AWARD WENT TO RONALDO
As a result of the voting, Cristiano Ronaldo's 2008 Ballon d'Or was chosen as the best Ballon d'Or season in history. The Portuguese star became the owner of the B.O.A.T. award.
It was noted that the B.O.A.T. award is a separate initiative from the official Ballon d'Or trophy. The organization is also kept separate from the Super Ballon d'Or, to which it is often compared.
