Acun Ilıcalı explained the illegalities and false claims regarding the suite at Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex. Ilıcalı also made an important call to President Aziz Yıldırım.
Businessman Acun Ilıcalı has issued a statement regarding suite number 217 within the Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex.
In his written statement on the suite issue, Acun Ilıcalı said the following:
"With only 2 days remaining before such a critical and historic match in which our Fenerbahçe will fight to qualify for the Champions League after 18 years, I had no intention of making a statement despite all the injustices and unlawful acts against me. However, in the face of the statement shared on August 23 on the club's official channels under the signature of Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş., which severely misleads the public, targets me personally, and contains false claims, this information has become necessary.
The use of suite no. 217, which was allocated to Acun Medya under a contract and whose fee was paid to the last penny, was unlawfully prevented before the season by the decision of the current club management; upon this, legal action was taken to protect our rights. The independent Turkish judiciary put a stop to this injustice and ruled in our favor with an interim injunction. However, despite this decision, our use of the suite was physically prevented during the first home match of the season, Fenerbahçe - Konyaspor; it was recorded in an official report that the suite in question was destroyed and rendered unusable under the pretext of 'renovation/work in progress'. The official announcement made by the club is nothing but an attempt to cover up this unlawfulness, which even contains elements of crime, and is full of false claims.
In the statement, it was alleged that the judicial officials who issued the interim injunction acted unlawfully; it was stated that a complaint would be filed against these individuals with the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK). It should be known that the compliance with the law of matters brought before the judiciary is at the discretion of the independent and impartial courts of the Republic of Turkey; judges and prosecutors render their decisions within the framework of the constitution and laws. The approach displayed by the club lawyers who drafted this statement is extremely thought-provoking and concerning for the institutional seriousness and reputation of our club.
There is a binding court decision, and implementing this decision is a legal obligation. Defense arguments in the judicial process cannot be used as a justification for not enforcing a finalized injunction. Moreover, no bailiff has the authority or procedure to request a contract from the parties while executing a court decision.
Contrary to what is claimed in the club's statement, there is no situation without a contract. As with many suites, the contract was not signed in my name but in the name of my company, Acun Medya. Indeed, the contract in question is among the documents personally submitted to the court by our club's lawyers.
The claim that the two people on the list notified for the delivery of the suite on match day had Galatasaray Passolig cards, and the allegation of 'threatening stadium security and creating chaos' based on this, is an extremely inappropriate, unfortunate, and clear perception operation aimed at inciting our fans against me. The aforementioned officials are not my personal guests, friends, or relatives; they are official bailiffs and duty police officers who arrived at the stadium to enforce the court decision. Attempting to create a cheap fanaticism perception targeting me through the Passolig records of state officials performing their duties is the latest example of the effort to marginalize and demonize within club politics.
Dear President; I sadly see that the personal grudge you hold against me has completely overshadowed the 'unity and solidarity' rhetoric you promised during the election process. Our Fenerbahçe needs an environment, more than ever, where it sets aside internal strife as a community, unites, and directs all its energy towards fighting the injustices inflicted upon our club.
Despite this, we are sadly following that you are still acting with an opposition reflex, focusing on internal politics, dividing the community, and making personal moves ahead of a possible election. These artificial debates and reckonings are causing deep weariness within the great Fenerbahçe community.
Spending your energy not on personal revenge plans, slander, and perception operations, but solely on the interests of Fenerbahçe, is the only way to achieve the true unity and solidarity our community deserves."
