Inter-party Eid greetings programs were held on the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice. The AK Party and the CHP exchanged visits again after two years to celebrate the holiday. While delegations from the AK Party, MHP, and DEM Party also came together for the greetings, the DEVA Party, which did not visit the CHP headquarters, paid a visit to Özgür Özel's delegation at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
On the second day of Eid al-Adha in Ankara, holiday visits between political parties took place.
At the AK Party Headquarters, a delegation led by Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman, including Sivil Toplum ve Halkla İlişkiler Başkan Yardımcısı and Kırşehir Deputy Necmettin Erkan, Genel Merkez Kadın Kolları MYK Üyesi and Sivas Deputy Rukiye Toy, and Genel Merkez Gençlik Kolları MYK Üyesi Abdullah Uçan, first received the CHP delegation as part of the Eid greetings. FIRST VISIT AFTER THREE EIDS
Following the court's ruling of absolute nullity in the convention case, which reinstated Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration, AK Party and CHP delegations exchanged Eid greetings again after three Eids.
"OUR COMING TOGETHER IS VERY IMPORTANT"
Yayman highlighted the importance of Eids for unity and solidarity, stating, "These Eids are wonderful days for coming together as a nation and society, ending resentments and grievances, and strengthening brotherhood, solidarity, and unity among us—what we call the 'internal front.' We were truly delighted to host you at our AK Party Headquarters. The scenes Turkey misses are those we experience during Eids. In fact, it is very important for this unity and solidarity to exist not only during Eids but always. Our nation expects this from us at all times. Of course, our parties and ideas are different. That's how it is in democracies; but it is very important for us to come together for Turkey's common benefit, for the interests of our nation, and to come together during our Eids."
CHP RECEIVED THE AK PARTY DELEGATION
During the Eid greetings programs at CHP Headquarters, the delegation led by CHP İzmir Deputy Sevda Erdan Kılıç first exchanged greetings with the AK Party delegation. The AK Party delegation came to the greetings with flowers. Delegation head Resul Kurt conveyed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's greetings and wished the new administration success. CHP İzmir Deputy Sevda Erdan Kılıç said, "If the political institution strives to solve citizens' problems instead of being divisive and polarizing, we should ensure the togetherness seen during Eids in Parliament to solve citizens' problems."
"WE CAN SIT AT THE SAME TABLE FOR PROSPERITY"
Kılıç stated that joint efforts could be made to increase retirees' purchasing power, saying, "I wish retirees could receive higher bonuses, sacrifice an animal, and women and children could have a peaceful holiday. The CHP family will continue to produce policies to solve the problems of youth, retirees, farmers, women, and children, and work in Parliament. We can sit at the same table to solve these issues and achieve prosperity."
"WE KNOW THE PEOPLE'S DEMANDS VERY WELL"
AK Party's Kurt said, "Everything begins with the financial structure; it will get better, God willing. We know the people's demands very well in the field. Turkey has overcome a major earthquake, and we need to be strong; we can do this together. We have 17 million retirees, all of whom are our people. We are aware of retirees' needs. We know the problems very well and strive to solve them as soon as possible."
