Heavy traffic occurred on the roads of Muğla during the Eid al-Adha holiday. Due to citizens heading to holiday resorts after exchanging greetings and performing sacrificial rites, a vehicle queue stretching from Menteşe to Yatağan reached approximately 22 kilometers. Traffic came to a standstill at times, primarily because of holidaymakers wanting to go to Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Datça. Authorities warned drivers to be cautious.
Heavy traffic occurred in Muğla, one of Turkey's most important tourism centers, due to the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Citizens wanting to make use of the 9-day holiday set out to go to holiday destinations after exchanging greetings and performing the sacrifice. Especially with day-trippers also hitting the roads, long vehicle queues formed at the city entrances.
VEHICLE QUEUE EXTENDED TO YATAĞAN
The density, starting from the Menteşe district of Muğla, continued up to the Yatağan district. Due to the vehicle queue reaching approximately 22 kilometers, drivers had difficulty advancing in traffic. At some points, traffic came to a standstill, and the long vehicle queues were also captured from the air.
HOLIDAYMAKERS FLOCKED TO TOURISM REGIONS
It was stated that the biggest reason for the density was holidaymakers heading to tourism centers such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Datça. Due to the density created by citizens wanting to spend the holiday in coastal areas, traffic flow slowed on main arteries.
WARNING ISSUED TO DRIVERS
Authorities warned drivers to be careful due to heavy traffic. Teams reminded that citizens traveling long distances especially should obey speed limits, maintain following distance, and not get behind the wheel while tired.
HOLIDAY DENSITY EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
Authorities announced that the density on Muğla roads is expected to continue in the following days of the holiday.
