Mexican social media influencer Cesar Gastelum was killed when he was shot by two people on a motorcycle while livestreaming with friends on TikTok. A large-scale investigation has been launched into the death of the influencer, who was shot in the head, and the attack was captured on the livestream footage.
Social media influencer Cesar Gastelum was killed in a gun attack during a live broadcast on TikTok in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.
The incident occurred in the city of Culiacan. Gastelum, who was broadcasting live in front of a fast-food restaurant with his friends, was attacked by two people arriving on a motorcycle.
MOMENT OF ATTACK CAPTURED ON CAMERA
In the footage of the attack, two helmeted individuals on the same motorcycle were seen approaching Gastelum and opening fire directly at him.
The social media influencer, shot in the head, died at the scene, while the attackers fled on the motorcycle.
LARGE-SCALE OPERATION LAUNCHED
Sinaloa state security officials announced that a large-scale operation was launched to capture the perpetrators following the attack.
While the cause of the incident remains unclear, the investigation is ongoing from multiple angles.
A SIMILAR INCIDENT OCCURRED LAST YEAR
Last year in Mexico, social media influencer Valeria Marquez was also killed in a gun attack while broadcasting live on TikTok from the hair salon where she worked in the city of Zapopan.
