A person who shot and killed 46-year-old Aras Yılmaz in a shopping mall located in Sarıyer, Istanbul, fled after stealing a motorcycle. The incident occurred around 00:00 yesterday at a shopping mall in the Ayazağa neighborhood. According to sarıyersoz's report, a person wearing a helmet blocked Aras Yılmaz's path as he arrived in a car with the license plate 34 MAV 269 in the open area where the cafes are located. The assailant, who drew his weapon, fired 10 shots at Yılmaz through the front windshield of the car. Aras Yılmaz was severely injured by 9 bullets that hit various parts of his body. After the first intervention by the medical teams dispatched to the scene upon notification, Yılmaz was taken by ambulance to Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital in Seyrantepe. Despite all the interventions, Yılmaz succumbed to his injuries. STOLE A MOTORCYCLE AND FLEDAfter the incident, the assailant pointed a gun at a passing motorcyclist and got on the motorcycle from behind. The assailant, who fled on the stolen motorcycle, disassembled his weapon and threw it on the ground on Cendere Street. After a while, the assailant, who was involved in an accident with the motorcyclist, began to flee on foot. However, the assailant, who was pursued by police teams, was caught in a house where he was trying to hide. CAUGHTIt was revealed that the assailant was Mert A. (30), who had 30 criminal records with the police. Mert A., who was taken into custody, was brought to the police station for processing. Meanwhile, Aras Yılmaz's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the examinations. The investigation initiated by the police regarding the incident is ongoing.
