In the US state of Florida, a horrifying case has emerged in which 4 children were kept in a truck cab for years. According to officials, the children, whose ages ranged from 5 to 9 when the abuse began, were forced to share a single bunk bed; they were deprived of food, showers, education, and medical care. Two children were found to have untreated burns that left severe scars, and two suspects have been arrested on multiple charges.
The horrific mistreatment allegedly inflicted on four children for years came to light through an investigation conducted in Florida. Keisha Epps and Tamra Stewart from Georgia are accused of imprisoning, abusing, and neglecting two boys and two girls inside a truck cab.
THEY TRAVELED CITY TO CITY BY TRUCK FOR 6 YEARS
According to information provided by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, 51-year-old Keisha Epps made trips by truck between Miami, Orlando, and Atlanta for approximately six years. Officials stated that the four children were kept in the truck's cab during this period. It was reported that the children were denied regular access to food, hygiene, education, and necessary medical care. According to the Attorney General's Office, it was also determined that the children were forced to share a single bunk bed in the cab.
"THEY LEFT THEM LOCKED IN THIS MOVING PRISON"
Attorney General Uthmeier stated that the children were not even taken out of the vehicle at truck stops, saying: "The evidence shows that the truck would stop at a truck station where the adults would go to the restroom, maybe take a shower, but they would leave these children locked in this moving prison." According to the officials' statement, the children's ages ranged between 5 and 9 when the abuse began.
SERIOUS BURN MARKS FOUND ON TWO CHILDREN
The details revealed by the investigation did not stop there. Officials announced that two of the children had untreated burns that left serious scars. Uthmeier also stated that the girls were sexually abused by Stewart.
THEY FACE MULTIPLE CHARGES
While 51-year-old Keisha Epps and 37-year-old Tamra Stewart were arrested, officials reported that additional charges could also be filed. According to the news reported by US-based Fox 13 News, Stewart faces charges including two counts of sexual assault, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation against a child under 12, two counts of child abuse, two counts of child neglect without great bodily harm, and two counts of child neglect causing permanent disfigurement.
