A robbery attack targeting a taxi driver by two individuals in Eyüpsultan was captured on camera. The moments when the suspects distracted the taxi driver by chatting, then put a rope around his neck and struck him with punches were recorded second by second on the vehicle's camera.
The incident took place on Friday, May 8, at approximately 9:00 PM in Yeşilpınar Neighborhood. According to reports, taxi driver Gökhan A. stopped to pick up a passenger. The suspect sitting in the front seat shook hands with the driver and began chatting.
THIRD SUSPECT PUT A ROPE AROUND HIS NECK
Meanwhile, the other suspect getting into the taxi from the back seat put a rope around the driver's neck. The two attackers then beat the taxi driver with punches. The suspects were reported to be under the influence of drugs.
After robbing the beaten taxi driver, the assailants fled the scene. Following the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Injured Gökhan A. was taken to the hospital by ambulance after initial medical intervention. It was learned that the taxi driver's treatment is ongoing.

The incident was recorded by the vehicle's camera. The footage shows one of the suspects recording with a mobile phone during the attack. The moments when the suspects later damaged the vehicle camera were also captured on video.
Police teams are reviewing security cameras in the area and have launched efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
STATEMENT FROM THE TAXI DRIVERS' CHAMBER
The Istanbul Taxi Drivers' Chamber of Commerce also issued a statement regarding the incident. The statement indicated that the attacked taxi driver is under treatment in the hospital, saying, "We have learned that our colleague's condition is not serious. We expect the perpetrators to be caught as soon as possible and brought to justice."
