Former AK Party MP Hüseyin Kocabıyık, who reacted to the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu and was referred for disciplinary action with a request for expulsion, has been expelled from the party.

The former AK Party Member of Parliament, Hüseyin Kocabıyık, who was referred to the AK Party Central Disciplinary Board with a request for expulsion, has been expelled.

A decision has been made regarding the former AK Party Member of Parliament, Hüseyin Kocabıyık, who was referred to disciplinary action with a request for expulsion due to his reaction to the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

HE HAS BEEN EXPELLED

The AK Party Central Disciplinary Board convened regarding Kocabıyık, who was previously referred with a "provisional request for expulsion." The Board decided to expel Kocabıyık from the AK Party.

WHAT DID HE SAY?

Kocabıyık had stated after İmamoğlu's detention on charges of corruption and terrorism, "Recep Tayyip Erdoğan… Was this the place for the future? Did we struggle for this? Did we suffer in courts for years for this? You actually staged a coup against yourself, and you don't even know it."
