Due to the severe downpour affecting Bodrum, businesses in Koyunbaba Neighborhood were flooded and the Koyunbaba-Gümüşlük road was closed to traffic, while a retaining wall collapsed and damaged a parked motorcycle.

In the Bodrum district of Muğla, heavy showers that have been effective intermittently since the morning hours have negatively affected daily life and transportation. Following the warnings issued by the 4th Regional Directorate of Meteorology Regional Forecast and Warning Center, the rainfall that began caused flooding and material damage, especially in Koyunbaba Neighborhood.

KOYUNBABA-GÜMÜŞLÜK ROAD CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

As the downpour intensified, water flooded some businesses in Koyunbaba Neighborhood. The Koyunbaba-Gümüşlük connecting road was closed to vehicle traffic for a while due to accumulated water. Upon reports, teams from Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and Bodrum Municipality were quickly dispatched to the area. After the drainage work carried out by the teams, the water-filled road was reopened to transportation; cleaning work was carried out in stream beds and clogged drains.

RETAINING WALL COLLAPSED, MOTORCYCLE DAMAGED

The adverse effects of the rainfall were not limited to flooding. As a result of a retaining wall collapse in Koyunbaba Neighborhood, a motorcycle parked near the wall was damaged. Reminding that the downpour will continue intermittently throughout the day, officials asked citizens to be careful and take precautions against possible flooding and overflows.
