A new development has emerged regarding the murder of 62-year-old Züleyha Ortak's singer's home, where he was killed by his nephew while he was there to repair the shower cabin. It has been learned that the nephew, who was captured by police teams, stated that the incident occurred due to an inheritance dispute. Meanwhile, camera footage of the moment of the murder has also surfaced.
On March 15, Taştan Karaca (62), who came to repair the shower cabin at the home of the vocal artist Züleyha Ortak in the 19 Mayıs neighborhood of Şişli district in Istanbul, went downstairs after receiving a message from his nephew saying, "We need to talk." Karaca lost his life as a result of a gun attack by his nephew.
"HE OPENED FIRE WITHOUT SAYING A WORD"
H.E., who assisted Taştan Karaca during the renovation, stated in his police testimony, "While we were doing the renovation, his nephew called him asking for the address. He said, 'We definitely need to talk.' I went down with him. But without saying anything, he opened fire at us and fled."
FOOTAGE HAS EMERGED
In the investigation initiated by the Homicide Bureau, the police examined security camera footage and obtained images that recorded the moment of the murder second by second. The footage showed Taştan Karaca and the person with him waiting downstairs for a while, during which his nephew Caner T. approached from the left, drew his weapon, and repeatedly pulled the trigger. It was determined that the suspect fled on foot.
HE CONFESSED WHY HE KILLED
The suspect Caner T., who was taken under surveillance by the Homicide Bureau teams, was detained. During the location demonstration for the suspect, it was learned that the weapon used in the incident was found in a bushy area in Sarıyer, Hisarüstü. It was determined that the suspect, who was interrogated at the Public Order Branch, committed the act due to an inheritance dispute. After his procedures, the suspect was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
