Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 197,940 suspects with arrest warrants have been apprehended in 2024. In his statement regarding the development, Minister Yerlikaya said, "We will never allow those who have arrest warrants and are trying to escape justice to walk freely in our streets. Sooner or later, we will catch them. There is no escape from us."
Recently, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who has successfully carried out various operations, stated in his announcement today that 19,940 suspects with arrest warrants have been apprehended in 2024.
In a statement made from his X account, Minister Yerlikaya used the following expressions; "In the operations conducted against 'Individuals with Arrest Warrants Issued by Our Courts' within the year 2024 (January 1 - December 31, 2024);
- 195,790 individuals who have been wanted for 0-5 years,
- 1,249 individuals who have been wanted for 5-10 years,
- 901 individuals who have been wanted for 10 years or more, totaling: 197,940 people have been apprehended.
"WE WILL CATCH THEM EVENTUALLY"
We will never allow those who are wanted and trying to escape justice to walk freely on our streets. We will catch them eventually. There is no escape from us.
Last week, a person named A.E., who had been wanted for 10 years and had a total of 48 years and 6 months of prison sentences from 59 separate arrest warrants, was apprehended in Karabük.
As a result of the efforts of the JASAT teams of the Karabük Provincial Gendarmerie Command;
- A.E., who has been wanted for 10 years for Fraud by Using Information Systems and
- Sexual Abuse of a Child, was apprehended.
"WE HAVE ESTABLISHED SPECIAL TEAMS IN EVERY PROVINCE AND DISTRICT FOR THOSE WANTED WITH PRISON WARRANTS"
I congratulate our Karabük Provincial Gendarmerie Command and JASAT Teams. We have established special teams in every province and district for those wanted with prison warrants. They are searching for these individuals everywhere. If you suspect someone, report them to 112. We will take the necessary actions."
