In Mardin, 9 out of 18 suspects, who are alleged to have embezzled approximately 1 billion TL by selling 137,000 tons of wheat purchased from farmers by the Agricultural Products Office and stored in private companies' warehouses, have been arrested.

18 people were detained on the allegation that they made a fraud of approximately 1 billion TL by selling 137 thousand tons of wheat, which the Agricultural Products Office (TMO) purchased from farmers and kept in warehouses owned by private companies.



After a tip-off regarding the sale of 137 thousand tons of wheat, which the Agricultural Products Office purchased from farmers and kept in private warehouses established under the Law on Licensed Warehousing of Agricultural Products No. 5300, an investigation was initiated by the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.



1 BILLION TL FRAUD



As part of the investigation, a detention order was issued for 18 suspects, including business people. The suspects, who are alleged to have committed a fraud of approximately 1 billion TL, were detained on April 10.



9 PEOPLE ARRESTED



After their procedures, the business people F.S., Y.K., A.Ö., S.Ö., M.Ö., Y.Ö., B.T., S.A., and accountant İ.K. were arrested by the court they were brought before, while the others were released under judicial control. It was also learned that an investigation related to the matter was initiated in Batman, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, and Mersin.
