CAR COLLIDED WITH HAUL TRUCK

The accident occurred around 01:30 on August 16 on Sırmakeş Street in the Mahmutşevketpaşa neighborhood. According to claims, the set crew, who had been filming a commercial at a villa in Riva, set out to return home after a 16-hour shift. The car with license plate 34 EER 55, driven by cameraman Deniz Küçükler and heading toward the Northern Marmara Motorway, collided with a haul truck with license plate 34 EGU 832 that was emerging from a side street onto the main road.

Upon the notification, police, fire brigade, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Deniz Küçükler, trapped in the car, was extracted by the fire brigade's efforts and handed over to medical teams. Küçükler, who was seriously injured in the accident, along with his colleagues Melih Özhan Dinçel and Ümit Barlas, were taken to Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital by ambulances after initial on-site intervention.

BRAIN DEATH OCCURRED, ORGAN DONATION PROCESS STARTED

Deniz Küçükler, who suffered a brain hemorrhage due to the impact of the accident and underwent surgery, continued treatment in intensive care. Küçükler, who received treatment for 5 days in intensive care, died on August 21. It was learned that Küçükler would be laid to rest in the city cemetery after a funeral prayer to be held on Sunday, August 23, at the Central New Mosque in his hometown Devrek, Zonguldak.

COLLEAGUES DISCHARGED

Ümit Barlas, one of the injured set workers, was discharged from the hospital after treatment for fractures in his arm. It was learned that Melih Özhan Dinçel, who had lung damage and fractures in his body, was also discharged after his treatment was completed. It was reported that the driver of the haul truck, who was taken into custody after the accident, was still undergoing procedures at the police station.
