It has emerged that those who looted shops during the riots in France put the stolen products up for sale on the second-hand sales platform Vinted. The company announced that it had removed listings linked to the looting and could permanently close accounts that violate the rules.

According to BBC News, second-hand sales platform Vinted has removed listings for products believed to have been looted from shops during ongoing riots in France.

The company announced that after the weekend's unrest, it immediately took action to identify and delete listings linked to looting. A Vinted spokesperson said selling or requesting stolen goods is strictly prohibited on the platform and that they have zero tolerance for it.

Protests that began against the cost of living and public spending turned into riots in many cities, especially Paris, Marseille, and Lille. At least 1,200 people were detained in the incidents, and many shops were broken into and looted.

Alain Di Crescenzo, President of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of France, announced that more than 2,000 businesses were directly affected by the weekend violence, with damage reaching hundreds of millions of euros.

Vinted reported that it has tightened monitoring of suspicious listings, imposed sanctions on accounts that violate the rules, including permanent closure, and is working with French authorities and police. eBay, meanwhile, announced that it has not seen an increase in listings linked to looting in France.

In Paris, the storefronts of brands such as Dior, Rolex, Louis Vuitton, and Ralph Lauren were damaged. In Marseille, Olympique de Marseille's official store on the city's historic street was looted; the club closed the store. The Lille club also announced that it would keep its store closed until a second announcement.
