In Hungary, a 24-year-old suspect stole a small parked aircraft at Kalocsa Airport and entered the no-fly zone over the country's only nuclear power plant. In response, two fighter jets of the Hungarian army took off, and the suspect later made an emergency landing in a sunflower field. After landing in the sunflower field, the suspect ran to a road and was caught by police while trying to steal the vehicle of a person who tried to help him.

In a statement, Ruszin-Szendi reported that after radar systems detected the unauthorized aircraft, two "Gripen" type fighter jets were launched for intervention.
AS SOON AS HE LANDED, HE TRIED TO STEAL THE VEHICLE OF THE PERSON HE ASKED FOR HELP After the pursuit began, the plane had to make an emergency landing in a sunflower field approximately 20 kilometers from the nuclear power plant within a few minutes. The aircraft's landing gear was damaged during the landing.
Hungarian police, who shared images from Kalocsa Airport, where the plane was hijacked, and the sunflower field where the forced landing took place, wrote that the suspect, who was slightly injured during the landing, then crossed the field to reach the highway and subsequently tried to steal the vehicle of a person from whom he requested assistance on the road. In the police statement, it was stated, "However, this time he was unsuccessful and was captured and taken to the police station."
Reports in the press noted that when the 24-year-old suspect was apprehended by police, he appeared confused and disoriented.
