The bus drivers working for the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continue their strike, which they started yesterday due to the non-payment of a portion of their salaries and social rights. As a result of the strike, crowds have formed at bus stops. With citizens unable to find buses opting for their own vehicles, traffic has come to a standstill. Additionally, some exams have been postponed due to the disruption of metro services caused by the strike.

The bus drivers affiliated with the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality ESHOT General Directorate continued their strike this morning, which they started yesterday due to the non-payment of their salaries and social rights.

As part of their protests, the bus drivers did not go out for service between 06:00 and 07:00. Due to the strike, crowds formed at the bus stops. With citizens unable to find buses opting for their own vehicles, traffic congestion was observed.

In a statement made on the social media account of İzmir Institute of Technology, it was announced that the final exams planned to be held today were postponed due to the inability to conduct ESHOT services.

METRO SERVICES DISRUPTED

This morning, there were also disruptions in metro services in the city. Disruptions due to a malfunction on the Fahrettin Altay-Evka 3 route caused congestion at the stations. Some passengers reacted to the security personnel due to the delays. It was stated that services returned to normal after the malfunction was resolved.
