In the Salihli district of Manisa, a worker shuttle minibus driven by a 63-year-old person hit 8-year-old Yunus Zelf, a Syrian national, who was riding a bicycle. The young child died at the scene, while the minibus driver was taken into custody.
An 8-year-old child on a bicycle died at the scene after being struck by a shuttle minibus in the Salihli district of Manisa.
THE SHUTTLE STRUCK HIM WHILE HE WAS RIDING HIS BICYCLE
The accident occurred at the intersection of Şehit Polis Yüksel Özdemir Street and 117th Street in Salihli's Sağlık Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the worker shuttle minibus with license plate 45 J 7197, driven by D.K. (63), struck an 8-year-old Syrian national, Yunus Zelf (8), who was riding his bicycle for a reason not yet known. Upon the report, medical, fire brigade, and police teams were dispatched to the accident scene. In the examination carried out by medical teams, it was determined that little Yunus Zelf had died at the scene.
Following the examinations by crime scene investigation teams and the public prosecutor, the child's lifeless body was taken to the morgue of Salihli State Hospital.
THE DRIVER WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
After the accident, the minibus driver was taken into custody, while the worker shuttle minibus was banned from traffic. An investigation into the accident was launched.
