Russia held a drill serving as a message to many countries at a time when it had come to the brink of war with Europe and NATO. In the Arctic Exercise, the repulsion of enemy forces coming from the north of the country was simulated.
Russia has conducted a notable military exercise in the Arctic region at a time when tensions with NATO and European countries are escalating.
During the exercise organized by the Northern Fleet in the Franz Josef Land archipelago, the repulsion of possible enemy attacks coming from the north of the country was simulated. The Bastion coastal defense missile systems involved in the operation successfully destroyed designated targets.
EXERCISE IN FREEZING COLD
In the exercise carried out in extreme cold and harsh weather conditions, field experiences gained from recent military operations were applied. With this move, which is considered a response to NATO's expanding presence with the participation of Sweden and Finland, the Moscow administration sent a message that it would preserve its dominance over the strategically important Northern Sea Route and the Arctic region.
