In the Erdemli district of Mersin, citizens mobilized to find the severed finger of a motorcycle accident victim. The severed finger was located after approximately 20 minutes of searching.
In the Akdeniz neighborhood of the Erdemli district in Mersin, a traffic accident occurred on the Mersin direction due to the construction work on the Mersin-Antalya D-400 highway. The motorcycle with license plate 01 ATV 355, driven by E.C. (52), crashed into a pallet of paving stones and curbstones used in the road work while in motion. As a result of the impact, the driver E.C. and a passenger identified as Ö.Ş. (64) were injured.
TEAMS MOBILIZED TO FIND THE SEVERED FINGER
Upon notification of the accident to the 112 Emergency Call Center, ambulance and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Citizens who noticed that the driver had severed his finger in the accident mobilized to find the finger. Minutes later, the finger was found between another curbstone pallet and handed over to the medical team that arrived at the accident site. The injured were taken to the hospital along with the severed finger after the first intervention.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
