In Mersin, three notorious fugitives wanted for decades-long prison sentences were caught off guard through meticulous police work. The con artist, sentenced to 36 years, was hiding in his luxury summer house; the robber, with a 7-year sentence, was relaxing in his country house pool; and the thief, sentenced to 42 years, was caught red-handed while trying to rob a pharmacy.
The operations organized by Mersin Police Department against wanted individuals were nothing short of scenes from a movie. Three notorious fugitives, each with decades of finalized prison sentences, were caught red-handed while enjoying luxury at a summer house, lounging by a country house pool, and attempting to rob a pharmacy.
LUXURY SUMMER HOUSE ESCAPE ENDED
Teams from the Wanted Persons Bureau of the Public Order Branch of the Mersin Provincial Police Department launched an extensive operation across the city to capture fugitive convicts.
Through technical and physical surveillance, they tracked down F.C., a suspect with a finalized prison sentence of 36 years and 8 months for fraud. Determining that the fugitive was hiding in a luxury summer house complex, the teams conducted a raid and apprehended the suspect.
42-YEAR SENTENCE ATTEMPTED PHARMACY ROBBERY
One of the most unusual moments of the operations occurred during a theft investigation. F.G., wanted for theft with a finalized prison sentence of 42 years and 7 months, had not reformed and was back on the scene. The teams caught the notorious thief red-handed while he was robbing a pharmacy and handcuffed him.
POOL PLEASURE CUT SHORT
Another target of police surveillance was I.Y., with a finalized prison sentence of 7 years and 6 months for robbery. Determined to be hiding in a rural country house, a surprise raid was conducted at the fugitive's address. I.Y., who was in the pool of the country house when he saw the police, was taken out of the pool and detained.
DIRECTLY SENT TO PRISON
The three fugitives, caught in uniquely interesting locations and situations, were referred to the courthouse after completing legal procedures at the police station. Arrested by the court, they were directly transferred to prison to serve their sentences.
