The terrorist organization YPG, which reached an agreement with the Syrian administration on January 29 stipulating a ceasefire and gradual integration, has made a new decision. In a statement, YPG leader Mazlum Abdi said, 'We declare as of today, with full responsibility, that the mandate of the Syrian Democratic Forces has been terminated and they have been disbanded as an autonomous military force. The YPG has been integrated into the Syrian administration.'

Abdi stated, "With full responsibility, as of today, we declare that the mandate of the Syrian Democratic Forces has been terminated and that it has been disbanded as an autonomous military force."
With this decision taken within the scope of the agreement, the process of integrating armed elements in the region into official state institutions has begun. This development marks a critical stage in the gradual transfer of control over civil administration, border crossings, and energy resources to the Damascus government.
THE AGREEMENT REACHED BETWEEN THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT AND THE YPG
The terrorist organization YPG/SDG, which had created an illegitimate occupation zone in the north and northeast of the country by capitalizing on the authority vacuum created by the Syrian civil war, had been cornered following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime. The January 29 Agreement between the central government led by Syria's new President Ahmed al-Sharaa and the terrorist organization constituted a surrender process aimed at gradually eliminating the organization's military and administrative presence on the ground.
ALL RESOURCES OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT
According to the details of the agreement, all critical oil fields, natural gas resources, airports, and border crossings in the region are being immediately transferred to the central state. Additionally, the aim is to dissolve the organization's so-called military, administrative, and security units and integrate them under the umbrella of the Syrian Ministries of Defense and Interior. During this process, the terrorist structure, unable to withstand the pressure, accelerated its disintegration, and indeed, as of August 2026, the complete dissolution of the so-called autonomous military structure of the bloody terrorist organization YPG/SDG and its integration into state institutions was declared by the organization's leaders themselves.
With this agreement, Syrian government forces have been deployed in critical urban centers such as Hasakah and Qamishli, and administrative mechanisms have come under the control of the central judiciary and ministries.
