The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that 256.4 million passengers used the railway systems in Turkey during the January-November period. Lines such as Marmaray and Başkentray received significant interest, highlighting the public's preference for rapid transportation.

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, reported that 256.4 million passengers used urban rail systems, high-speed trains (YHT), and regional and mainline trains during the January-November period. Uraloğlu made a written statement regarding the railway passenger statistics for the 11-month period of the year.

RAIL SYSTEMS PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE SOLUTION TO TRAFFIC PROBLEMS

Pointing out that urban rail systems offer significant solutions to reduce traffic congestion in metropolitan areas, Uraloğlu stated, "During this period, Marmaray, Başkentray, Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme, Halkalı-Bahçeşehir, and Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport lines, along with YHT and regional and mainline trains, served 256.4 million passengers."

MARMARAY CARRIED 201 MILLION PASSENGERS IN 11 MONTHS

Uraloğlu reported that Marmaray, which carries the passenger load of the mega city Istanbul, served 19 million 315 thousand 901 passengers in November and 201 million passengers during the January-November period. Providing information about Başkentray's passenger data, Uraloğlu said, "We significantly relieved urban traffic with Başkentray, which connects the east and west of Ankara. The number of passengers on our Sincan-Kayaş line, which operates in integration with YHT, is also continuously increasing. With Başkentray, we served 2 million 358 thousand 168 passengers in November and 22.1 million passengers in the 11 months of the year. Additionally, we broke a record with 94 thousand 84 passengers on November 20." he evaluated.

"IN NOVEMBER, YHT SERVED 1 MILLION 62 THOUSAND 546 PASSENGERS"

Uraloğlu reported that during the January-November period, 226 million people used Marmaray, Başkentray, Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme, and Halkalı-Bahçeşehir lines, and noted: "The Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Line reached 8.8 million passengers. In the 11 months of the year, we served 234.8 million passengers on these lines. In November, YHT served 1 million 62 thousand 546 passengers. During the January-November period, 11.5 million of our passengers traveled with YHTs. In this period, 10.1 million passengers used our regional and mainline trains. We see that our citizens prefer fast, comfortable, and reliable transportation. We are reaping the rewards of our railway investments and are determined to continue our efforts to ensure that our people benefit effectively from these services.
