OPERATION AGAINST THE DALTONLAR
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Combating Branch Directorate, together with the Intelligence Branch Directorate and under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, launched an investigation into new-generation criminal organizations. During the investigations into the criminal organization known to the public as the "Daltonlar," which was determined to operate primarily in Istanbul as well as throughout the country and internationally, was assessed to be led from abroad, and whose leader Beratcan Gökdemir is the subject of a red notice, it was determined that hitmen recruited through social media platforms were included in messaging groups.
It was determined that the organization directed people it recruited through social media to be used in criminal acts, and that the suspects who were included in a messaging group named "Dalton Brothers" were organized there. As a result of efforts to identify people who were assessed to be preparing for action in the messaging group, the suspects were identified.
90 SUSPECTS DETAINED
Upon completion of the work, a simultaneous operation was carried out in 30 provinces, centered on Istanbul, including Şırnak, Kayseri, Ankara, Aydın, Bursa, Gaziantep, İzmir, Hatay, Kocaeli, Mersin, Eskişehir, Kilis, Manisa, Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Adana, Antalya, Balıkesir, Batman, Bingöl, Kahramanmaraş, Kırşehir, Muğla, Muş, Ordu, Samsun, Tekirdağ, Trabzon and Van. In the operation, a total of 90 suspects were detained, 34 of whom were under the age of 18. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after procedures at the police station.
