In the scope of the 'corruption' investigation against IBB, 6 of the 12 suspects, including IBB and Uskudar Municipality Council Member Ekrem Baki, who was detained in the operation held on September 3, were arrested. In the investigation, which included reports stating that corruption and public damage were detected in the tenders of the IBB Purchasing Directorate, 6 suspects were released under judicial control conditions.
In the context of the 'corruption' investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), the Preliminary Examination Report prepared by the Ministry of Interior's Provincial Administration Inspectorate and expert reports included findings indicating that certain tenders, including the procurement of materials for the IMM Presidential residence, conducted by the IMM Purchasing Directorate were rigged and caused public loss.
12 DETAINED
Within the scope of the investigation, simultaneous operations were carried out on September 3 against 14 suspects. During the operations, IMM Purchasing Department Head Mustafa Sökmen, Branch Manager responsible for City Restaurants Ali Toy, former IMM Financial Affairs Department Head Neslihan Vural, Zoning administrator Gökhan Fırtına, Purchasing Branch Manager Mehmet Yücetürk, former Purchasing Manager Talha Özyurt, Purchasing Branch Office Chief Abdülkerim Hazırbaba, Revenue Branch Office Deputy Manager Saliha Ülkü Aydoğan, IMM and Üsküdar Municipality Council Member Ekrem Baki, Vedat Taşdelen, Mustafa Delipoyraz, and Volkan Karagöz were detained.
It was determined that suspect Mahmut Berk Şahin was abroad. It was learned that Onur Gülin, for whom a detention order was issued, was in prison.
REFERRED TO COURTHOUSE
12 suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse today after undergoing a health check.
6 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
Among the suspects, Abdülkerim Hazırbaba, Ekrem Baki, Mustafa Delipoyraz, Mustafa Sökmen, Talha Özyurt, and Vedat Taşdelen were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison. Meanwhile, Gökhan Fırtına, Mehmet Yücetürk, Rezzan Neslihan Vural, Saliha Ülkü Aydoğan, Ali Toy, and Volkan Karagöz were released under judicial control.
