In the “bribery” investigation targeting the Seferihisar Municipality led by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 5 of the 8 detained individuals have been arrested. Among those arrested is Seferihisar Deputy Mayor Gökhan Pehlivan.
The procedures for 8 suspects apprehended within the scope of the bribery investigation conducted by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Seferihisar Municipality have been completed at the Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Branch.
5 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
Among the suspects, S.Y. was released after his statement due to health issues. Seferihisar Deputy Mayor Gökhan Pehlivan, Nermin Günay, wife of Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa Günay, construction company officials S.B. and R.K.B., public official Ö.A., company executive R.Ö., and company employee M.C.H. were referred to the courthouse. It was decided to arrest 5 of the suspects.
INVESTIGATION
In the investigation regarding certain individuals and organizations linked to Seferihisar Municipality allegedly obtaining benefits in exchange for procedures related to construction and zoning processes, 6 suspects, including Seferihisar Deputy Mayor İ.G.P., were taken into custody on June 17.
Nermin Günay, wife of Güzelbahçe's previously arrested and suspended Mayor Mustafa Günay, who is alleged to be connected to the suspects, and company employee M.C.H. were apprehended yesterday.
