As wildfires continue in the state of California, it has been revealed that inmates are also assisting in firefighting efforts.
Forest fires continue in the city of Los Angeles, located in the state of California, USA. The fire area, where at least 16 people have lost their lives, continues to witness apocalyptic scenes.
27 PERCENT UNDER CONTROL
Authorities announced that the Hurst fire is 89 percent contained over an area of 799 acres, the Palisades fire is 11 percent contained over an area of 23,707 acres, and the Eaton fire is 27 percent contained over an area of 14,117 acres.
105 THOUSAND PEOPLE UNDER EVACUATION ORDER
Although the number of people under evacuation orders has decreased, there are still 105,000 people under evacuation orders, and 87,000 people are under evacuation warnings. Authorities reported that there have been reports of 16 missing persons within the boundaries of Los Angeles County. So far, 16 people have lost their lives in the fires.
PRISONERS ARE HELPING WITH FIREFIGHTING EFFORTS
Meanwhile, it has been reported that prisoners are also working alongside firefighters who are working day and night in the severe forest fires in Los Angeles. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation stated that approximately 1,000 prisoners have been working to extinguish the fires as of Friday.
