Police intervened early in the morning in Ankara's Güvenpark against the sit-in protest that had been ongoing for 38 days by relatives of fallen soldiers and disabled veterans demanding 'equal personnel rights.' Teams took the veterans and relatives of martyrs in the area to the veterans' adaptation center and closed the park with barriers. Erdem Çerçioğlu, the President of the Association of Families of Martyrs and Veterans, reacted after the intervention.
Police intervened on the 38th day of the sit-in protest held by relatives of fallen soldiers and veterans in Güvenpark. Police teams took the veterans and relatives of martyrs at the area to the veteran adaptation house in the early morning hours. Güvenpark was closed with barriers.
INTERVENTION CAME ON THE 38TH DAY
Police intervened on the 38th day of the sit-in protest held in Güvenpark by families of fallen soldiers and veterans who came to Ankara from 81 provinces of Turkey, demanding equal personal rights.
Police teams conducted an operation in Güvenpark at around 04:45. During the intervention, the families of fallen soldiers and veterans at the area were removed from Güvenpark by police teams and taken to the veteran adaptation house.
GÜVENPARK WAS CLOSED
After the intervention, Güvenpark was closed with police barriers.
Erdem Çerçioğlu, President of the Association of Martyrs' Families and Veterans, who was removed from the area, said, "Apparently, to live like a human being in this country, one needs to be a terrorist, not a veteran."
