The investigation into the armed attack on April 4, 2015, on the bus carrying the Fenerbahçe football team was completed after approximately 11 years. In the prepared indictment, it was requested that 5 suspects be punished for the crime of 'attempted premeditated murder' against 39 people on the bus. It was stated that some of the suspects followed the bus's route and informed the others, and that the others carried out the attack with a shotgun.
An indictment was prepared in line with new evidence in the investigation into the armed attack on the bus carrying the Fenerbahçe football team on April 4, 2015. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included findings on how the attack was carried out in the indictment prepared against 5 suspects.
THEY TRACKED THE BUS'S ROUTE AND PROVIDED INFORMATION
In the indictment, it was assessed that some of the suspects followed the route of the Fenerbahçe team bus and informed the other suspects of the vehicle's arrival.
It was stated that the other suspects opened fire with a shotgun as the bus passed.
HTS RECORDS AND FORENSIC REPORTS WERE EXAMINED
Within the scope of the investigation, in addition to the new evidence obtained, HTS and base station records belonging to the suspects, forensic examinations, forensic medicine reports, and other findings in the file were evaluated together.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment against 5 suspects in line with the evidence obtained.
CHARGES OF "ATTEMPTED MURDER" AGAINST 39 PEOPLE
In the prepared indictment, it was assessed that the 5 suspects jointly committed the crimes of "attempted premeditated murder" against 39 people on the bus and "damaging property" against the bus owner. The prosecutor's office requested that the suspects be punished for these crimes.
THE CONVOY HAD A NARROW ESCAPE FROM DEATH
In the armed attack on the bus carrying the Fenerbahçe football team on April 4, 2015, the vehicle's driver was injured in a life-threatening manner.
Because of the driver's injury, the team bus was at risk of an accident, while the football players and technical staff members on the vehicle were also affected by the attack. As a result of the attack, material damage occurred to the bus.
In the initial investigation into the attack, a decision of no grounds for prosecution was made in 2020 on the grounds that sufficient evidence could not be found. The file was reopened in 2026 in line with new evidence.
After examining HTS and base station records, a detention order was issued for 5 suspects on August 11, 2026. In the operations carried out, 4 suspects were caught, while one suspect was sought as a fugitive. Among the suspects referred to the courthouse, Yusuf Öksüz was arrested, while the other 3 people were released under judicial control conditions.
