The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation into the crime of 'disseminating misleading information to the public' regarding posts on social media claiming that a riot broke out at Konya E-Type Closed Penitentiary Institution. Within the scope of the investigation, access blocks were imposed on 21 social media accounts upon the request of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation regarding posts made on some social media accounts claiming that a riot broke out at Konya E-Type Closed Penal Institution.

ACCESS BLOCK TO 21 SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS

According to the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the posts on some social media accounts claiming that a riot broke out in the aforementioned prison constituted the crime of "publicly disseminating misleading information."

Within the scope of the investigation, upon the request of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a decision was made by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace to block access to 21 social media accounts that made such posts.
