We have concluded that security in West Asia should be based within the region. All kinds of foreign intervention must be prevented.'

The four-way meeting in Tehran, the capital of Iran, where senior representatives of the Mecca Defense Alliance countries Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and Iranian officials came together, has ended. Following the meeting, the 4 countries issued a joint statement. In the statement published by Iran's Supreme National Security Council, it was noted that the meeting was held under the hosting of Council Secretary General Mohsen Rezaei. The statement indicated that Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Director Ibrahim Kalin, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Saudi Arabia's Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman attended the meeting.

"FOUR COUNTRIES AGREED ON CONTINUING TALKS"

The statement also included the decision taken regarding the future of contacts among the four countries, saying, "The participants agreed to continue talks aimed at strengthening cooperation among the four regional countries, including in the areas of regional peace and security."

Secretary General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei said regarding the four-way meeting in the capital Tehran between the delegations of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran, where regional security, Israel's activities in the region, and developments in Palestine and Lebanon were discussed: "We have concluded that security in West Asia must be based within the region. All forms of foreign intervention must be prevented."

"ALL FORMS OF FOREIGN INTERVENTION MUST BE PREVENTED"

According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Rezaei made a statement regarding the four-way meeting in Tehran.

Arguing that the regional countries should have begun cooperation earlier and that the visit from Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to Tehran showed that US threats have no effect worldwide, Rezaei used the expressions: "We have concluded that security in West Asia must be based within the region. All forms of foreign intervention must be prevented."

Expressing that a new and positive atmosphere was created in the talks held with senior officials in Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Rezaei said that, together with Iran, these countries believe that a way out of the crises in the region would be possible through cooperation among the four countries.

Rezaei stated that Israel must end its attacks on Lebanon and southern Syria as well as in Gaza and the West Bank.
