Çeşme, İzmir's tourism paradise, came under the influence of heavy rain. As the rain, which increased its effect in the district, filled the avenues and streets with water, the resulting scenes drew attention. Roads were submerged at many points, especially in the bazaar, and drivers and pedestrians had difficulty moving forward. With the rain subsiding, the accumulated water receded and life returned to normal.
In Çeşme, İzmir’s tourism paradise, the heavy downpour filled the streets and alleys with water. Due to the rain that started in the morning and intensified in the following hours, flooding occurred in many parts of the district.
STREETS AND ALLEYS WERE COVERED WITH WATER
The downpour, which intensified around noon in Çeşme, negatively affected daily life. Especially around the bazaar, roads and sidewalks were completely underwater. In moments reflected in the footage, it was seen that floodwaters reached the thresholds of shops and that boxes and items in the streets floated on the water.
While luxury cars and vehicles parked in the district were buried in muddy puddles up to their wheel rims, both pedestrians and drivers had great difficulty moving forward due to the flood covering the street.
THE WATER RECEDED AFTER THE RAIN
After the heavy downpour that was effective for a while subsided, the puddles began to recede gradually. Life in the district returned to normal, while the streets that turned into lakes during the rain and the vehicles left in the water became the most striking images of the day.
