US President Donald Trump announced that Iran has released a US citizen who had been detained since December 2024 and allowed them to leave the country. Trump stated that the individual is safe and expressed appreciation for Iran's step.

Trump, who claimed that a US citizen had been "unjustly detained" in Iran during the tenure of former US President Joe Biden, stated that Iran has permitted the individual to leave the country.
